Yves Saint Laurent beauty advert

For my beauty advert, I decided to use the product 'Black Opium' by Yves Saint Laurent. I used a DLSR camera to shoot the product itself, modifying the shutter speed and exposure, in this case choosing a darker lighting to reflect the dark mood and dark tones of the product and brand. I decided to go for a dark colour palette of dark red and black for the background to further reflect the product and brand identity- promoting dark femininity and empowerment for women in a way in which is unconventional in the media. I decided to use the 'Yves Saint Laurent' font to resinate with the brand. Furthermore, I used a glitter background to present the product in a glamorous and attractive way. The hashtag '#DefineYourScent' is used to promote audience engagement and interaction but also a way to provoke thought and consideration within the audience. In terms of photoshop techniques, I used the cropping tool to crop out the background of my product in order for me to add it onto the background layer in an effective way.
